Tree Ornaments

Posted by HUSQVARNA VIKING®

These cute trees are very easy to make. In the download you will find templates for three different trees. Print the templates and use small scraps of wool or felt fabric to cut out the trees. Finish with an appliqué stitch and use single stitch patterns for decorations. Could it be much easier?

What You Need:

  • Scraps of wool or felt fabric (we used green, white, red and brown fabric)
  • Tree templates
  • Sewing thread
  • Metallic cord for hanger
  • INSPIRA® Tear-A-Way stabilizer
  • Large eyed hand sewing needle (for attaching the metallic cord)

Tree no 1 – Template A-C

  • Cut out two pieces of white wool fabric (A). Sew them together using a blanket stitch.
  • Cut out one piece (B) in green wool fabric. Place stabilizer underneath and embellish with a large decorative stitch.
  • Cut out the little rectangle for the stem (C) and place it on the tree in the center of the lower edge. Place the green decorated part on top and stitch to the white tree using a straight stitch.
  • Thread a metallic cord through the top of the tree and make a loop.

Tree no 2 – Template D-F

  • Cut out one piece of white wool fabric (D).
  • Cut out one piece (E) of green wool fabric. Place stabilizer underneath and embellish with a large decorative stitch.
  • Place the green tree centered on top of the white tree. Sew them together using a blanket stitch.
  • Cut out the little heart (F) in red wool and place it centered on the tree. Stitch in place using a pictogram or a decorative stitch.
  • Thread a metallic cord through the top of the tree and make a loop.

Tree no 3 – Template G

  • Cut out two pieces (G) of green wool fabric.
  • Place tear-a-way stabilizer underneath and decorate one or both trees with decorative stitches. Remove excess stabilizer.
  • Place the trees wrong side together, stitch together using a straight stitch.
  • Thread a metallic cord through the top of the tree and make a loop.

Vary the trees as you like by combining fabrics differently or by using different colors. Use them as decorations on your holiday gifts or as decorations on your holiday tree.
