Scrap quilts are a good way to use leftover fabric from other projects. You can make this quilt out of cotton fabric or if you want extra warmth make it out of flannel. 

What you need:

Note: Yardage is based on 115cm (45”) wide fabric

Sewing machine
¼" Piecing Foot
Open Toe Foot
Edge/Joining Foot
Dual Feed Foot or a machine that has this feature integrated in the machine
Free-motion foot
30cm (⅓ yd) each of 9 assorted cotton or flannel in medium to dark shades for large and small 9-Patch blocks, large and small triangles
80cm (1 yd) blue print fabric for heart top and binding
70cm (¾ yd) beige fabric for background of heart blocks

25cm (¼ yd) solid or tone on tone fabric for narrow border

1.6m (1¾ yds) cotton fabric for backing

1.6m (1¾ yds) cotton batting

Cotton sewing thread

Invisible thread

Wash away marker or pencil

Rotary cutter, ruler and cutting mat

Steam iron and Ironing surface

Safety pins

Pins

Thread snips
